Eat Farm Now
Launched in April 2019, EatFarmNow is a new digital platform that puts the world’s best podcasts, blogs, videos and pictures created by farmers and others in food, all in one place. Whether you’re a farmer who wants to pick up technical tips from peers, a non-farmer interested in where your food comes from, or someone who wants to know about the big issues in food, this is the place for you. The site features more than 500 pieces of content from writers, photographers, podcasters, bloggers and vloggers – all showcasing their stories and perspectives from around the globe. Of course, you can read, listen and watch this content elsewhere, but EatFarmNow collates the very best on to one platform, so you don’t have to trawl the internet. There is an incredible team behind EatFarmNow. The two original founders, Will Evans and Simon Haley, live and breathe agriculture: they advise, write, podcast and broadcast with great success. Will and Simon passionately believe that great audio, visual and written content produced from within the food and farming industry has immense value. Their vision is to share this more easily across the farmer/non-farmer divide. To do this, they have partnered with the very best strategists, content creators, editors, website developers, social media and communications experts, to form an exceptional team. Over the past 15 years or so, agriculture has been catapulted into the limelight, linked to so many of the world’s issues such as population growth, urbanisation, climate change and even emerging superpowers. The issues facing our food system have become mainstream and the appetite to know more about food, where it comes from, and the increasingly exciting innovations and science involved, has exploded across TV screens, social media, podcasts, radio and print. But the initiatives to connect and communicate within agriculture, and indeed to increase awareness of farming amongst consumers, has not kept up with this demand. In that space, talented content creators and providers have sprung up on main-stream social media channels. They have quickly attracted healthy follower numbers, demonstrating a real appetite for well-produced, interesting content about food and farming - straight from those within the sector. We need more of this – which is where EatFarmNow comes in. The EatFarmNow community aims to entertain, educate and inspire. Sparking relevant conversations, connecting farmers to each other as well as the public, and using the latest technologies to showcase farming as the modern, diverse and global industry it is. Showcasing the best of food and farming is the driving force behind the EatFarmNow initiative. Quite simply, we are offering real, on-the-ground, muddy-boots content, captured from around the globe and straight from the people working in the world’s fields, barns, plantations, kitchens and markets. We are connecting the world.
