British Pig Association Junior Pig Club
The British Pig Associationís Junior Pig Club was set up in 2010 to encourage children from different background to get involved with pigs. The aim was to encourage those from a farming background and those that had never been on a farm before to experience keeping pigs if they could or just getting involved in different ways. Originally it started as a showing competition that included an element of public speaking but since then it has grown to look at how to make sausages, how to take care of pigs, national competitions, conserving our native breeds as well as fund raising and having fun as a group with a common interest. We try to combine fun with the serious from apple bobbing to preserving breeds that in danger of disappearing.
