Farming is one of the most stressful jobs on the planet as farmers are faced with many factors that are essential to their operations that they have no control of whatsoever, such as the weather, market prices and global shut-downs!
But the one thing that people have (in and and outside of farming), is an ability to exercise control over their own state of mind and their well-being. Focussed Farmers has been running since 2017, introducing mental training tools, psychology and neuroscientific research around mindfulness development , coupled with goal-setting; and measuring the benefits to farmers and agricultural sector workers...
The Focussed Farmers programme is a mindfulness based programme to develop focus, self-leadership and coach people to work out what they truly want to get out of life! Results have been consistent in achieving improvements in well-being, showing averages of a 20% increase in purposeful focus, a 25% increase in positive state of mind, a 26% increase in self-discipline and a 19% reduction in stress.
